Report: Reuben Foster not eligible for exempt list yet, can participate in team workouts for now
Reuben Foster’s spot on the 49ers’ roster is under great scrutiny, but San Francisco cannot use the commissioner’s exempt list for the linebacker.
Jim Trotter of NFL Media reports that Foster will not become a candidate for the list until the league concludes its investigation of domestic violence allegations. That means Foster can attend the start of team workouts Monday.
It remains unclear whether he will show up.
He seemed to skip around the bases, crossed home plate and threw his arms into the air, enticing the already screaming crowd to go even louder. They obliged, and eventually Lindor emerged from the dugout for a curtain call — in what technically was a road game, no less. The Indians were the visitors in this one.
No matter. Lindor seemed more at home than anyone else.
Skiba, who was accused of allegedly making the fake Manning helmets that were sold to the collectors by Steiner, had almost all the claims against him dismissed. The judge agreed with his counsel’s arguments that he never profited off the exchange of helmets, nor did he ever directly represent the items as game-used to consumers.
Garrett was the No. 1 pick in the 2017 draft, going to the Browns. Riddick interviewed for the Giants’ GM job that went to Gettleman.
This is part salary dump, part Gettleman getting out of a bad contract inherited from Jerry Reese, part scheme-related, with a new defense in place this season, and part an acknowledgement from the Giants they believe JPP’s best days are behind him. This is also the Giants’ surprise and delight they could get a third-round pick out of this.
It is revisionist thinking to slam Reese for this one. Think back to March 17, 2017 — the day JPP’s contract extension was finalized. The Giants were coming off an 11-5 season and their first playoff appearance in five years, fueled by an expensive defensive overhaul.
