Vinny Curry’s $9 million salary may be too much for the Eagles
The Super Bowl-champion Eagles don’t have much salary cap space heading into 2018, and so an expensive veteran may be on the way out.
The Eagles want to get defensive end Vinny Curry to agree to a new contract, and if he doesn’t, they may cut him or trade him, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network.
Bennett was indicted Friday by a Harris County grand jury in Houston, Texas on a felony charge for an incident involving a 66-year old woman at Super Bowl LI in 2017.
Here are the alleged details of the incident, according to a press release from the Office of the District Attorney in Harris County, Texas and obtained by NJ Advance Media:
A Harris County grand jury Friday indicted Philadelphia Eagles defensive end Michael Bennett for the felony charge of injury of the elderly for injuring a 66-year-old paraplegic who was working at NRG Stadium to control access to the field at SuperBowl LI, prosecutors said.
Papa John’s spokesman, Peter Collins, confirmed Manning sold his stake in the stores he had picked up in 2012, though a former Papa John’s part-owner quickly scooped up all 31 locations.
The franchisee that purchased the market is excited about the future of our business and assumed ownership of all Papa John’s locations in the Denver, Co., market on Feb. 26, 2018, Collins wrote in an email to the newspaper.
Manning’s partial breakup with Papa John’s is the latest in the franchise’s tumultuous relationship with the NFL and its partners. Founder John Schnatter resigned as CEO in December after publicly blaming Papa John’s declining national sales on the league’s hesitancy surrounding players’ national anthem protests. Schnatter said at the time he was disappointed in the NFL’s leadership for not stifling the controversy.
